Ise Washi
Ise Washi is a Japanese paper that has been traditionally used since the Meiji era in Ise City, Mie Prefecture. Ise Washi is offered to many temples and shrines, including Ise Jingu.
Depending on the shrine, they make a special watermarked Japanese paper. Kozo and Mitsumata etc. are used as a raw material.
The main feature of Ise Washi is that it is a clean washi (to be used as paper for shrines).
In 1994, it was certified as a designated traditional craft of Mie Prefecture.
Currently, this washi is used not only for Shrines, but also for inkjet printings for photographers as its quality is pure and clean.
The company is actively working on developing and manufacturing Japanese paper for inkjet printers, while preserving the tradition, so that it can be familiar to people today.
