更新日:2021年5月27日

I'm Iwatsuki, in charge this time!

Professor Shibasaki of Aichi University of the Arts introduced us to this event.

What is the Material Project exhibition?

It is an exhibition of material research conducted by students of Aichi University of the Arts with the cooperation of four companies.

(Venue: AEON Nagakute Exhibition Period: March 27 - April 4, 2021)

Takeo Corporation (https://www.takeo.co.jp/) × Aichi University of the Arts

Theme: "Connecting all papers with emotion

Choose paper not by function or use, but by feeling and mood.

A sample book is made into a work of art where you can enjoy the fun and tactile feel of paper. The individual forms of expression are lovely, and I wanted to actually touch them. I had never thought of choosing paper based on mood, so I found it very interesting.

Oji Fiber Corporation (http://www.ojifiber.co.jp/) ×Aichi University of the Arts

Theme: Promotion "Kaminoito OJO+".

What is KAMI NO ITO OJO+?

-Yarn made from Manila hemp using a machine-made technique that utilizes traditional Japanese paper manufacturing methods

I was surprised to know that products such as bags, hats, and shoes are made from paper yarn. The simple and functional products were very nice.

Takihyo Corporation (https://www.takihyo.co.jp/) x Aichi University of the Arts

Theme: "Sustainable to accompany your life".

The packaging tells the story along with the cup sleeve made from THE NEW DENIM PROJECT. I thought it was great to be able to know how the piece was created when purchasing it. The ticket design is cute and the texture is so good.

Nishigaki-lumber Corporation (https://www.nishigaki-lumber.co.jp/) × Aichi University of the Arts

Theme: How can we incorporate the opportunity to actually touch wood into design and use it in our daily lives?

All of the proposals from the students of Aichi University of the Arts were great. Wood was used for family carts, height meters, stools, and partitions, and the works on display gave a sense of the warmth of nature.
