Hello, again! This is Akane Takeuchi, and I'm a sophomore. Before we begin, I have to tell you that this article will be very very long because there are a lot of information. However, I would be happy if you enjoy until the end!
Okay. Shall we begin "This is NAGAKUTE ~Moricoro ver.~" ? (Finally, I made it writing this title again!)
Do you know Moricoro Park? Moricoro Park is a place where EXPO 2005 AICHI, JAPAN was held, and replaced as a huge park.
By the way, is there anybody who have been to the EXPO 2005 AICHI, JAPAN?
Actually, I used to go there so many times with the annual pass when I was 4 years old! So I feel nostalgic about EXPO! However, honestly, I have been to Moricoro Park only a few times. After all, it’s just a “park”... After the EXPO, even though the "Satsuki and Mei's house" remained, and a skating rink and a swimming pool were opened, I didn't go there as much as 2005. I felt like it is not worth paying the expensive transportation costs.
But now, I should say sorry to Moricoro Park. I found a cozy cafe at Moricoro Park!! I fell in love at first site. Its name is "SOYOGO COFFEE". It locates in the "Global Center" where you can see a white hemisphere on the rooftop. you will find the cafe within few minutes from the Linimo station called, "Ai・Chikyuhaku Kinen Koen station".
As you can see, this cafe sells coffee beans, sweets, and some prepared meals in front of the shop, but you can also eat and drink inside the cafe! (The cafe itself isn't big and the maximum capacity seems to be about 15 people.) Actually, there are many kinds of Japanese picture books which is very famous and might have been appeared in the Japanese textbook. So everyone could enjoy the cozy atmosphere.
This cafe especially focuses on the coffee so if you a coffee lover, you had better go to this cafe! Unfortunately, we couldn't have a lunch on that day, but I couldn't give up and visited personally on the other day with my friend! There are many kinds of menu, but I and my friend chose the "Onigiri Plate"!On the weekends, the miso soup which comes with the plate will be replaced by the tonjiru, the miso soup with pork and vegetables inside.
Dear Kendai students, why don't you sometimes eat lunch at somewhere different from the cafeteria? ("Kendai" is a nickname for our university which is called among students)
If you are interested in this cafe, please check the website or SNS below.

So let's move on to the main part. I'll introduce you about EXPO 2005 museum!
Now there are only "Satsuki and Mei's house" and "Wanpaku Treasure Island (Now: Aichi Children's center)" left in the Moricoro Park which have been appeared from 2005. However, it is a few though, there is a collection of EXPO 2005.
This museum used to be a guest house for VIPs. The point is that this museum is full of the memory of EXPO 2005, but the building is not so big so it doesn't take much time to see all rooms. However, the rooms aren't big though, the exhibits are jammed so it might take an hour if you see each exhibit carefully.
In this museum, you could enjoy some videos, gifts from the participants, the reception room for VIPs, and many memorial exhibits. Actually, the reception room is remained its appearance since 2005.
Actually, my favorite on is Gallery 3. This is the picture of it and there are a lot of memorial things in this room. I have been to this museum for two times, but I always enjoy this room the most. However, at the same time, this room reminds me of the bitter experience. (Now it's a funny story, though...) If you are interested in this story, why don't we go to this museum together? Haha
By the way, if you have already read the last article, is there anything you feel strange about the course of this trip?
That's right! The point is that why did we go to Moricoro Park while all other places are located in the Nagakute kosenjo area? It's not about the "commutation ticket"!
It is already finished, but we went to Moricoro park because there was a special exhibition called, "Pass down to the future! EXPO 2005 AICHI, JAPAN exhibition" was held in the EXPO 2005 Museum until April 4th, 2021.
Luckily, we were able to learn about history of EXPO and the excavation and research of mammoths which was one of the main exhibit during the EXPO2005 from Mr. Takahito Saito, an EXPO journalist. In addition, we saw some very special EXPO related collections which is Mr. Saito's personal belongings. I'm sure this was a precious experience!
The research of mammoths continued after 2005, and owing to the development of the technology, the researchers recently found out that there is a possibility of the rebirth of mammoth! Isn't it interesting? I admire the rapid development of the technology! My major is foreign language, though.
Okay, let me speed up from here, or nobody won't read the rest of the blog.
Nowadays, you need to make a reservation to go inside "Satsuki and Mei's house", and there are two ways to do it. You could make a reservation in advance online or you can just go to Moricoro Park and make a reservation on that very day. if you are interested in "Satsuki and Mei's house", please check the opening hours and enjoy your journey to the world of "My Neighbour Totoro"! (Well, I've never been there, too)
Also, I recommend kids to visit Aichi Children's center! It has a huge playground inside the building, and some of the area has interesting gimmicks! Moreover, near the center, there is a small theme park with a ferris wheel so if the picnic tires your kids, try these useful places!
So this the end of my report. I'm very sorry for the long report, but thank you very much for reading until the end. This report will continue so please keep checking this blog! I will continue doing my best in ALEQ, and I'm looking forward typing a long article for you again! See you soon!
