Aichi Student Tourism Town Development Award
In 2020, we applied for "Aichi Student Tourism Town Development Award". While no one was specialist of planning tour, we brought ideas together and proposed a tour.
● Outline of application
We planned a exchange tour, "Japanese ✕ Foreign Resident" centered on the Chita Peninsula. The title was "Dear my friend, I found the unknown Aichi." The purpose were to create opportunities to connect local people and foreigners living in Aichi, and to tell the culture of Aichi by offering a tour plan that can be done even under the circumstance of COVID-19.
● Planning stage
① Preliminary research
We started by dividing the task of researching cultures and facilities in Aichi prefecture. Because we had a desire for the attendees to experience Japanese culture and unique customs at their accommodation, we decided to go to Chita Peninsula and its surroundings where there is a guesthouse that meets the conditions of Tokoname-Yaki. We targeted foreigners and Japanese living in Aichi.
② Planning and workshop
We planned a tour, discussing what kind of tour we'd like to participate in. We also participated in a workshop and learned about the points of planning by Mr. Kato, a lecturer and representative of Dai Nagoya Tours. In addition, we presented our tour plan, and received opinions from the instructor and other participants.
③ Field survey
From the experience of the workshop, we conducted it to confirm whether the time allocation of the tour plan was appropriate. The places I visited were "Ebisen Park", "Kuroushi no Sato", "Tourist Farm Hana Hiroba", "Pottery Promenade", "YOMOGI GUEST HOUSE", "TOKONAME STORE", "MIZKAN MUSEUM", and "Nakano Hanroku Residence". Some places were not open due to the influence of COVID-19, but there were many things we found by visiting.
● Results and learning
As a result, we were unable to proceed to the final examination. However, through this project, we were able to experience the tour planning, the workshop, and the fieldwork that cannot experience in university. We would like to make use of what we learned and experienced in future activities.
